“Ocean of Song”
Adventure and romance on the high seas
Ocean of Song is an original symphonic suite, composed and orchestrated by Skyland’s David Lovrien and Rick Holt. Inspired by the 1917 poem, “The Ocean of Song” by Ella Wheeler Wilcox. It is part song cycle and part concerto grosso for folk instruments & orchestra. Heartfelt ballads, cinematic moods, and stirring images of whalers, pirates, and mermaids combine to tell a story of the irresistable allure of the sea.
